Primele coduri postale din Romania s-a introdus în 1974, iar in mai 2003 a intrat in vigoare un nou cod postal numeric, format din șase cifre.
Codurile postale pentru Mehedinti, Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Strada Ionescu Sisesti Gheorghe Bl. 4, IA3, IA4, MIM1 sunt afisate sub forma de tabel, cu urmatoarele coloane: Cod postal, Localitate, Strada (unde exista) si Judet.
